PART-TIME PRIVATE CHEF needed in CHICAGO, IL 60660 (EDGEWATER)
This busy family of 3 is seeking an experienced, creative and health-conscious private chef to stay with their family long-term. Duties include: menu planning, grocery shopping, prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner, set table and serve dinner, clean up kitchen, ensure pantry and fridge are stocked/organized. Meals will be prepared for 3 people--2 adults and 1 child (4 years old). Meals should be clean, healthy and of a variety. Family has no allergies and eats a variety of meals. Some examples include: eggs, salmon, rice, etc. Family is really trying to restructure their diet to ensure they are eating healthier. It is very important that the chef has experience working with clients that have required healthy meals. Clients will give chefs ideas of likes/dislikes and after a few weeks of chef getting to know the family, would require that the chef comes up with menu independently. They would also love for the chef to source food locally when possible (ex: local farmers markets,etc.). Chef must have some formal culinary training (either a Culinary Degree or a Registered Dietician). The ideal candidate will be flexible, creative and understands nutrition and health.
The position will require 25-30 hours a week. This includes: grocery shopping, menu planning, meal preparation, cooking and clean-up.
Family would like breakfast and lunch to be prepared off site. Chef would then package the breakfast and lunch and bring to client's home to be used for the following day. Chef can do prep work for dinner off site as well. Dinner should be cooked and served in the client's home. Chef would leave after dinner is served.
Chef can choose the times he/she cooks breakfast, lunch, etc., but anticipates chef to be in their home Monday-Friday: 3:30pm-5:30/6pm for dinner (depending on how much time chef needs).
Salary: $25-$50 per hour (Dependent on experience)
