FULL-TIME PROPERTY AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER needed in NORTHER N SUBURBS (WINNETKA, WILMETTE, ETC.)

The Property and Maintenance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of mainly two private residential homes (in Winnetka and Wilmette). In addition to these properties, there are 4 additional properties in the Northern suburbs that will also need light support (Gurnee, Lake Forest, Vernon Hills and Wheeling). 

This person will proactively communicate both with individual family members (of the 2 main residences) as well as the family office staff. The location of the job will primarily be at the properties in the Northern suburbs. However. the family office is located in Chicago and candidate can utilize this office to work as well if desired (but not a must).

The Property and Maintenance Manager will respond to the general needs of the respective families, providing services including: managing vendor relationships, coordinating maintenance requests, managing home services (internet, alarm systems, utilities, etc), managing financial and maintenance records and general upkeep of the properties. The role will report directly to the Chief of Staff of the family office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule and oversee vendors for home improvements, maintenance and repairs
  • Manager landscaping, cleaning services, and other routine services (pool services, etc.)
  • Errand running, stocking of the houses
  • Automobile maintenance and appointments
  • Ensuring security protocols are in place (cameras, alarms, related services, etc.)
  • Supervise contractors and vendors for home improvements
  • Complete other special projects and duties as assigned
  • Assist Controller in financial budgeting and bill management for home projects, maintenance and utilities
  • Maintain proper documentation for property, vendor and maintenance records
  • Minor handy projects (ex: moving furniture, building furniture, hanging shelves, hanging photos, etc.)
  • Maintain strict confidentiality

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Reliable transportation for commuting to the various properties and errand runs 
  • Minimum of 3 years working in property management (or similar role)
  • Familiarity with applicable local and state laws and regulations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Financial literacy to assist in managing budgets, negotiations and tracking expenses
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional client relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively 
  • An aptitude for creative problem-solving and analysis
  • Organized, detail-oriented, flexible and efficient
  • Prioritizes multiple deadlines in an efficient manner
  • Positive, hardworking attitude
  • Flexibility with work hours, available for after-hour requests and emergencies as they arise 

Schedule:

Monday-Friday: 40 hours/week

*Some flexibility on schedule on occasion-nights and weeks as needed (ex: something breaks, leaks, emergency, etc.)



Salary: To be discussed directly with Placement Counselor--based on experience
