PART-TIME (25-30 HOURS/WEEK) ESTATE-LEVEL HOUSEKEEPER needed in BARRINGTON HILLS, IL 60010

Housekeeper must have experience working in an estate or a formal household

This professional and kind couple is seeking an experienced, dedicated and highly detail-oriented Estate-Level Housekeeper to stay with them for many years (current Housekeeper is retiring after being with them for 25 years!). Family has another part-time Housekeeper in the home. This person will be responsible for being the lead Housekeeper of the home; both working as a team with the other Housekeeper as well as managing her. 

The home is meticulously designed and maintained. There are several special finishes, fixtures, valuable antiques and furniture within the home. This person must have experience working in an estate or home similar to this one.  Family keeps an exceptionally tidy and neat household. The ideal candidate will be efficient, careful, professional, confidential, knowledgeable and friendly.

Duties include: Deep clean and maintain the large estate (estimated 10,000 square feet) (regularly used rooms cleaned daily (all on the same floor with exception of the gym) and less used rooms cleaned on a schedule), make beds, change bed linens, laundry-linens and towels, ironing-men's shirts, bed linens and table linens, load/unload dishwasher, polish silverware, china, crystal, organizational projects, run errands as needed, maintain cleaning supply inventory, water indoor pants, accept home deliveries, let in repair/maintenance service people, prepare for events and guests,  The housekeeper must ensure the household is cleaned, maintained and organized to the highest standards and per the family’s specifications and preferences. Couple will be in the home during the day unless they are traveling. There is also an Estate Manager in the home that this person will be reporting to. Most of the time the home will just have the couple there. However, grown children and grandchildren will visit some of the year. 

A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Have related experience and expertise in similar position
  • Excellent communicator, fluent in English
  • Reliable, dependable, and flexible
  • Courteous, discreet, and calm demeanor
  • Strong attention to detail, self-directed and highly organized
  • Professional with a good, friendly manner, hard-working and pleasant to be around
  • Thorough knowledge of general and deep household cleaning, laundry and organization of a luxury residence
  • Seeking longevity/long term commitment
  • Non-smoker 
  • Driver's License--can use own vehicle (mileage reimbursed) or vehicle at the home for minimal errands needed on occasion 
  • Spanish-Speaking a +, not a must 

Schedule: 

Option 1 (Preferred Schedule): 4 days a week. 25-30 hours. Flexible on how that's spread over the 4 weekdays. Hours to be between 8am-3pm.

Option 2:  5 days a week. 25-30 hours. Flexible on how that's spread over the 5 weekdays. Hours to be between 8am-3pm. 

Option 3: 3 days a week. 21 hours. 8am-3pm. Flexible on the 3 weekdays.

**NOTE: Flexibility on occasion to work extra hours would be needed--with advanced notice. On occasion, it may be required to help host/sever at private intimate events in the home---with additional pay. 

**NOTE: Thanksgiving and the day after will be required to work each year. Extra pay will be given. 


Salary: To be discussed directly with Placement Counselor--based on experience BEFORE TAXES 

Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation (try to have vacation align when couple is traveling), 8 holidays , 5 sick days
