FULL-TIME LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER needed in CHICAGO, IL 60616 (Hyde Park)

This busy family of 3 is seeking a flexible, active, and self-confident Live-in Housekeeper-Household Manager to join their household long-term. Duties include: deep clean and maintain the family's approximately 8,500 sq. ft. multi-level home, manage household laundry (clothing, linens, and bedding), maintain general household organization, assist with basic outdoor cleanup, prepare simple meals in bulk for the family (such as rice and baked chicken), occasionally grocery shop and pick up/drop off dry cleaning, coordinate access for contractors and service providers, walk the family dog, feed the cat and maintain the litter box, and regularly drive the family's 8-year-old son to/from school and activities. Very occasional childcare may also be needed with advance notice. Both parents work from home occasionally. Candidate must be able to navigate multiple flights of stairs while carrying laundry, as the home's elevator does not service every floor. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, take initiative, and be independent.

NOTE: The family strongly prefers a full-time live-in candidate and is open to qualified out-of-state applicants. Exceptional local candidates who are willing to stay on-site during scheduled workdays and return to their own homes on days off may also be considered.

This is a full-time, long-term position requiring flexibility and a commitment to working exclusively for this family.

Work days and hours:

40 guaranteed hours per week, primarily Monday–Friday. Hours will generally fall between 7:00/7:30 AM and 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required as the family's needs and school activities change. Occasional later evenings (no later than 9:00 PM) and very occasional Saturdays may be required with advance notice. When Saturday work is needed, time off will be provided on another weekday.

NOTE: The family currently resides in Chicago's South Loop and will be transitioning to their new Hyde Park residence following renovations. The selected candidate will initially work at the family's current approximately 5,000 sq. ft. home while residing in the coach house at the new property, 15 minutes away, until the family's move is complete.

NOTE: Housekeeper-Household Manager must have own car to use for work purposes. Mileage will be reimbursed and parking in the garage is available.

Salary: $65,000–$70,000 annually BEFORE TAXES

Benefits: 15 paid days off annually (combined vacation and sick time) and 6 paid holidays

Live-in Accommodations: The family provides a private, detached coach house/apartment located above the garage of their new Hyde Park residence. The accommodations are expected to include 2 bedrooms, with final details being confirmed.

Family has 1 medium sized dog (Shepherd Mix) and 1 cat
