FULL-TIME NANNY-HOUSEHOLD MANAGER needed in CHICAGO, IL 60640 (ANDERSONVILLE)

This busy family has 2 children: 4-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy and is seeking a professional, proactive and organized Nanny-Household Manager to stay with their family for many years. Children attend full day school, so hours where they are in school will be dedicated to household management tasks. Duties include: drive kids to/from school (in Hyde Park), drive kids to activities as needed, engage and play with kids in developmentally appropriate activities, take kids to nearby parks, playgrounds, library, etc.,  household management duties while kids are at school which can include:--tidy up common areas, dishes, light cleaning (wipe counters, sweep floors if needed, etc.), cooking--which includes packing the kids lunches for the next day and preparing after-school snacks for them, pet care for the cat--feed, give water and clean litter box if comfortable--but not a must, grocery shop and run errands as needed, make sure home is stocked with commonly used items and foods that the family eats (ex: toilet paper, cleaning supplies, diet coke, etc.), laundry, maintain a google document with family calendar, grocery and task list for household management and organizational projects, and as needed tasks that might come up throughout the year (car maintenance, online shopping for kids and returns, donations, photos, being there for scheduled maintenance appointments (ex: letting the plumber in, etc.), holiday decor, buying gifts for birthday parties,  helping pack for vacations, etc.,

The family will also be moving to a new home a few blocks away sometime in July/Aug. If this person starts within that time frame, helping with the move would be another task that would be helpful to add in to the household management duties--ex: be there when movers are there, help pack/unpack, set up appointments for the home, etc.

The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, independent and very engaging and creative with the children. Nanny must also be COVID vaccinated. Parent works from home a few days per week.

Work days and hours:

Monday-Thursday: 7am-6pm and Friday: 7am-4pm (53 hours/week)

**Flexibility to help with occasional evenings, weekends, etc. would be a plus but not a must

*NOTE: Must be an experienced driver and can either use own vehicle for driving or a family vehicle.

Family hopes to have another baby in the future as well. Duties include: getting children ready for the day, get breakfast together for the kids, walk oldest child to/from school, play and engage in developmentally appropriate activities with children, take to nearby activities such as library, classes, playground, etc., set up playdates, connect with other nannies in the area, be creative to come up with fun and educational activities to do with the kids to keep them engaged and off of screens, tidy up common areas, prepare meals and snacks for kids, do children's laundry, load/unload dishwasher and let dog out as needed. Must be COVID vaccinated. The ideal candidate will be reliable, energetic and creative. Parent works from home a few days a week. 

This is a long-term position for 5 days and 45 hours a week.

This busy family is seeking a dedicated, loving and flexible Nanny-Household Manager to stay with their family for many years. There are 4 children in the home, but 90% of the day will be spent with the 5 year old boy. Ages of the other children are: 12, 10 and 8. Older children are in full day school and activities during the week and summer away camp. Job is a mix of Household Management/Light Housekeeping Duties and childcare in the afternoon--primarily for 5 year old. Duties include: light housekeeping/keeping common areas neat and tidy, load/unload dishwasher, family laundry, meet any worker who needs access (plumber, landscaper, etc.), grocery shopping, feed and let dogs out in yard as needed, organizational projects, run errands as needed, snacks and meal preparation for kids,  pick up some of the kids from school while mom picks up the others, make dinner for kids as needed, engage with 5 year old in the afternoons--preparing snacks, playing,taking to park, bathing, getting him ready for bed, etc.. Mom is typically the one that takes the older kids to/from activities, but there could be times that the nanny will need to drive some of the kids to/from activities after school. Mom is in and out throughout the day and dad occasionally works from home. The ideal candidate will be proactive, trustworthy and very reliable. There is also a Housekeeper that's in the home a few days a week that candidate will communicate with (she will let Nanny-Household Manager know where she left off on laundry for that day, or which rooms need to be tidied up, etc.).

Household management tasks will be done while she is there. Once newborn care starts position will transition from Nanny-Household Manager to just a Nanny position. Nanny duties include: making breakfast for oldest child, driving her to/from daycare, read books, go for walks to parks and playgrounds, and newborn care (bottles, feeding, naptime). Household management tasks include: grocery shopping, store returns/exchanges, scheduling appointments, family’s laundry, light housekeeping (tidying up the home), and feeding the dog. This is full-time position between 46.5 hours-52.5 hours a week

Some examples of dishes that the family eats include; lentils, rice, chicken soup, tomato sauce, sauteed vegetables, etc. The family can provide a recipe to follow for the meals. Family uses natural products for cleaning.   The ideal candidate will know how to work in an organized, efficient and effective manner in order to accomplish daily/weekly/monthly to-do-lists. Parent works from home.

Work days and hours:

Option 1 (2 days per week): 2 weekdays for 7-9 hours each day (Tue/Thur preferred but can be flexible if needed as long as the days are not back-to-back) (Start time 9:30am or 10am and end time anywhere between 5:30-7pm)

Option 2 (3 days per week): Mon/Wed/Fri or Tue/Thur/Sat for 7-9 hours each day (Start time 9:30am or 10am and end time anywhere between 5:30pm-7pm)

Duties will vary each week, but can include: Heavy housekeeping projects (they have a Housekeeper that does daily general cleaning, but this person will be required to do deeper cleaning projects--ex: scrub floors, baseboards, windows, etc.), mopping, vacuuming, change lightbulbs, weeding as needed (they do have a full lawn service, but may need some more attention as needed), use leaf blower to clean up outdoor areas, clean outdoor areas, organizational projects (garage, etc.), run errands as needed, accept deliveries, driving couple as needed, The ideal candidate will be experienced, proactive and trustworthy. MUST BE COVID VACCINATED.

Duties include: Deep clean and maintain the 8,000 square foot home, laundry, steaming or ironing, make beds, change bed linens, organizational/special projects (ex: cleaning garage, organizing closets, cleaning patio furniture seasonally, power washing patio, etc.), pet care and clean-up, run errands as needed (ex: if candidate notices the family is running low on supplies or a light bulb needs to be changed, he/she will know to go to the store and get the items, etc.), accept deliveries, load/unload dishwasher, let vendors in, clean-up outdoor areas as needed and very occasionally help with driving older child (13 year old girl). The ideal candidate will be very independent and self-sufficient to see what needs to be done in the home. The candidate will also be very dedicated, detail-oriented and positive.  Candidate must love animals--they have 1 large dog and 2 cats. Dad works from home a few days a week. There are specialty surfaces and finishes in the home--ex: stone surfaces, faucets, wood floors, marble, etc.--so someone who knows how to care for these and what products to use.

This is a long-term position for 3 days and 25-30 hours a week.

Schedule:

3 days per week. Monday and Friday are must days. Flexible on the 3rd day as long as it's a week day. Flexible on start and end times and family can do anywhere between 25-30 hours per week.

10am-6pm 3 days per week. Housekeeper-Household Manager may choose any 3 days during the week.

This busy and kind family has 2 children: 9-year-old boy and 7-year-old boy and is seeking an engaging, dependable, and proactive Nanny-Household Manager to stay with their family long-term. MUST LOVE DOGS! Nanny duties include: help with homework, find activity classes for them to do, do educational activities with them, pick-up from school, and arrange play-dates (either at the home or in the neighborhood). Household management tasks include: scheduling/overseeing vendors and maintenance services, run errands, drop-off/pick-up dry-cleaning, purchase birthday presents and party supplies, ship and receive packages, organizational projects, closet rotation for children (changing summer clothes to fall clothes etc.), tidy up the home (pick things up), manage schedules, meal prep (chop veggies, fruit etc.), feed dog, let the dog out and take for walks, and take to the vet/groomer. Family does have a housekeeper who comes to do the deep cleaning and they have a dogwalker as well (walking the dog for the Nanny-Household Manager will be on the days the dogwalker does not come). Both parents work from home a couple days a week. The ideal candidate will be efficient, reliable, and responsible.

This is a long-term position for 5 days and 40-44 hours per week

Work days and hours

Monday-Friday: MUST hours 3pm-6pm (to take care of the children). The other 25 hours are for household management tasks and can be spread out throughout the week anyway the candidate would like. 1-2 days a week end time will be at 8pm (mom is an ER doctor). Nanny-Household Manager will get this schedule 1 month in advance.

NOTE: Must be an experienced driver. You will need to use your own car to run errands (family will reimburse for mileage)
